Structural Demolition

Planning, especially on larger buildings in a build up area is essential and rest assured Safeway Demolition has a competent team to carry out the work. We also understand the need to mitigate environmental disruption, either from noise, dust or vibration, and regularly undertake measures to minimise these.
Soft Strip
A “Soft Strip” is not a full demolition and is non-structural. It is a removal of items back to the buildings? original state. This may be simply removal of furniture, fittings, blinds, and flooring ready for a refurbishment.
It can also be removal of suspended ceilings and plasterboard making ready for new electrics, or new fire systems or new air conditioning. All these sorts of projects will need a “Soft Strip” .
Soft Strip can produce high level of dust and so adhering to strip Health and Safety in what we do is important. Allowances for ventilation and in some projects Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) will have to be worn.
Safeway Demolition Division will carry out the necessary assessments to ensure the right controls for dust are put in place and this is monitored throughout the project.
All materials, such as cables, timber, metals and plastics are taken away, sorted and recycled and our commitment is that that minimal waste product goes to landfill.
Asbestos Removal
Safeway Demolition takes Asbestos Removal very seriously and works very closely with clients to ensure Asbestos removal happens safely.
Our Health and Safety Executive has strict legislation controlled guidelines to guarantee the safe removal of Asbestos and aim to get the job done efficiently but with the highest regard for safety too.
A full refurbishment and demolition asbestos survey is carried out on every building and structure designated for demolition or strip out.

Asbestos cement roof
Dust from Asbestos is fatal, when not controlled and so the correct RPE has to be worn. Even with the correct RPE dust has to be kept down using water sprays. Overalls have to be type 5 which stops the tiniest of Asbestos fibres reaching the skin plus overalls once used have to be treated as hazardous waste. This means double bagging in plastic sacks and taking to a licensed disposal site.
The Asbestos waste can only be transported off site after it has been double bagged and labelled appropriately.
Site Clearance
Safeway and Plant Hire offers a complete site clearance service, from site planning, to clearing of vegetation, and taking waste away.
The usual aim of a site clearance it to make ready for a construction project such as houses, flats or commercial properties.
